Origins
Development for MiraOverloaded, which at the time was known as MiraModule, began development by Ninja in January of 2026. The goal was simple yet ambitious; Make an extension mod that was bigger than every other extension mod, one that had more ambitious roles, mechanics, and gameplay changes.
The project was the first project of Ninja AU Modding (see About SaboAU). A few months after development started, Ninja contacted his friend Goober, who at the time was working on a ranked TOU Mira mod. Together they began to add new features every day, and new roles.
Early Development
As Goober puts it, “The issue with that [MiraOverloaded] is it takes a damn long time to implement even a single role to the caliber I want it implemented.” Ninja also said, “Currently we have the idea for 59 different roles, and we originally wanted all of them to be in the first release, we quickly realized that wasn’t a possibility if we wanted to release anytime soon.”
Goober and Ninja quickly realized two things during early developmental stages.
- There was no way that they would be able to implement the shear amount of roles and modifiers they wanted in the small timeframe they wanted to be able to release the mod in
- They needed more people!
Eventually, Glitch and Washed were invited to the project, and role ideas were expanded to a list of over 70 ideas. It was narrowed to 10-15 to work on for the first release.
Renaming to MiraOverloaded
Following the creation of Sabotaged Among Us Modding (SaboAU), the project was renamed from MiraModule to MiraOverloaded. It has continued development under the SaboAU team and under the name MiraOverloaded
